Gram Flour Bread (3+4)

The gram flour bread is much more nutritious and has a very different taste in comparison to regular breads. I like baking it, because the preparation is much easier and also relatively faster compared to other kinds of bread. When preparing it you can also experiment with different herbs as well.

Gram flour can be bought in health food stores. However, nowadays it is also possible to buy it in certain supermarkets.

What you need and how to make it

Ingredients

  • 375 g whole grain wheat flour
  • 375 g gram flour
  • 450 g water
  • 15 g salt
  • 40 g yeast
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 2 tsp caraway seeds
Chickpea bread

Servings

1 loaf

Prep. time

20 min for prep
1 hour rising
1 hour baking

Difficulty

Easy

Preparation

  1. In a mixing bowl combine all ingredients and knead to a dough.
  2. Let it rise in some warm place, knead again before putting it into a baking dish.
  3. Wait for it to rise again and bake for ca. 1 hour at 180°C.
